My humble beginnings stem from Gary, Indiana September 12, 1977. Early on about the age of two or three plagued with family problems all five of my siblings and I were placed in three separate foster homes until my grandmother could afford to take all of us in permanently as a foster grandparent. Grateful and with a maintained God-centered life I went on to graduate from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. May 2000 with a B.S of Finance degree.
I am Arnetress Beatty a leader and business owner that excels operationally and loves to make a mark in people's personal development. As a student my career started in accounting as a fixed asset accountant reconciling the general ledger for the university's inventory. This same year I fell in love with the subject economics, the financial world and doing ministry.
Both would lead me to two separate worlds. Since my desire to do ministry was greater at the time of graduation than economics, I pursued ministry here in Atlanta, GA, but the doors did not open due to church politics. Pressing on, I pursued my second love, finances. I worked in banking as an operations manager, coaching employees, cash forecasting, scheduling, providing deposit and loan services, reconciling transitional errors and auditing money.
I also volunteered at the bank as a Junior Achievement Rep. teaching financial literacy in schools. A very proud moment to pour into young people, but still reminiscing about ministry I found myself standing at a crossroad. I asked God for direction whether I should pursue ministry still or continue to work in corporate America and he said to me that he’d take me to the path UP and he immediately sent me to a restaurant to work as a waitress to teach me to serve people on another level.
From there I would perform many menial jobs working with my hands and feet until I understood the plight of everyday hard working American citizens who may live paycheck to paycheck. Now I’m ready and know how, who and what to fight for. I can have both worlds administering justice to the American people and my community in Washington.
